About Tango Beat

New York Tango and Latin Culture

Tango Beat connects you with Argentine Tango and Latin Culture (TLC) in New York City and the World through print, web, email, social and mobile media.

Founded in 2008, Tango Beat has been the world's most popular Tango magazine on the web since April 2011, with a larger, more engaged audience than the national Tango magazines of Argentina, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Greece.

Every month Tango Beat reaches 10,000 TLC lovers and cultural venues through its print distribution across New York City, 10,000 TLC lovers around the world on the web and 2 million TLC lovers through social media.

Embrace the Arts

The Tango Beat is not just music and dance. It embraces art, language, film, and theatre, how you dress, and what you eat and drink.

Get A Social Life

Sitting alone at a computer in your underwear hoping people will "Like" what you write is not being social. Latin culture is about going out with family and friends to eat, drink and share culture together.

Be Universal

Tango has always been multicultural in its roots and current popularity, so the Tango Beat is everywhere. Our concept of what it is to be Latin is not limited by language, place of origin or social status. Tango Beat is for people with Latin hearts everywhere.

Connect with a Passionate Audience

The Tango Beat audience is global-minded people who like to go out with friends. The average reader is a graduate-level educated, above-average income, single, middle-age woman, who speaks English, Spanish or French, spends one day a week and travels over 200 miles 11 times a year to participate in cultural events.

Use the Power of the Network

Tango Beat publishes in print, web, email, social and mobile media providing the unique ability to reach customers through their preferred media. Tango Beat's print edition is distributed at art galleries, music venues, dance studios, museums, theatres, restaurants, bars, hotels, community centers and even some consulates in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and West New York. It also reaches selected Tango capitals around the world.

Be Mobile

Tango Beat ties everything together by using mobile phones to connect its print distribution with the web site and social media. This makes Tango Beat an ideal platform for engaging customers without damaging your business model the way some popular social discounters do.

Reach the Highest Levels

Tango Beat promotes Tango & Latin Culture through:
- Major Media
- Cultural Venues
- Cultural Institutions
- Restaurants and Hotels
- Community Organizations
- Government, Trade and Tourism Agencies

Explore the World Through Tango

Every month Tango Beat explores one of the countries that loves Tango the most. We explore the country's culture, look for the best examples of that culture in New York City and make connections for trade and tourism with the country. In April we explore the dance, music and food of Colombia that add so much richness to New York City. Next we will explore Argentina, Spain, Italy and France.

Support Family Business and Entrepreneurship

Tango Beat is published by Ximena Ojeda and Keith Widyolar, a classical ballerina from Bogotá, Colombia and a serial entrepreneur/pro photographer from New York who found each other through Tango. While exploring how cultures intermix, Ximena y Keith teach social Tango and build Tango communities. The combination of female and male spirits, and the mix of Latina and Gringo are what make Tango Beat work.

Put a Little TLC in Your Life

Tango Beat promotes the spiritual healing of the Tango embrace, Latin values of family, friends and arts appreciation, and the discovery of our common humanity through culture. We hope you will join us. Un abrazo.

Ximena y Keith
