Argentine Tango in France


The French were instrumental in both the birth and renaissance of Tango

Paris, the capital of Tango in France, is where the popular love of Tango was birthed in the cradling arms of wealthy Argentines in 1912, resurrected in 1985 with the seminal show "Tango Argentino" at the Theatre of Chatelet, and transformed into Tango Nuevo with the Gotan Project's music in 1999 and the presence of Mariano "Chicho" Frumboli, Mariana Montes and Sebastian Arce in the first decade of the 21st century.
