Pratique L'Echiquier

Pratique L'Echiquier is a Tuesday Tango practica organized by Thomas Poucet at Théâtre de Verre, a cultural center in the 18th arr. of Paris from 9pm-12am, for 3€, (+ annual 3€ membership)

Thomas organizes a lovely practica. He is an active tango dancer, teacher, organizer and show producer who has spent time in Buenos Aires so he is intimate with the Tango. Thomas wanted to create the feeling of Buenos Aires in Paris, but make it a little lighter. He has succeeded.

The Pratique L'Echiquier Venue

This is perfect for Paris and makes a lovely evening. There is art on the walls, some of it Tango. The high ceilings of the room breathe. People sit and socialize like in Buenos Aires. There is a parilla (Argentine BBQ) and wine bar outside. The meat is from Argentina and the sangria is delicious. Their are tables and twinkling stars in the sky outside.

There is an unusual double floor. The outside ring is comfortable, but the inside is quite slippery. The dancers are intermediate and above with a pleasant mix of younger and older. La Pratique L'Echiquier is one of the special milongas/practicas in Paris. Go there with your friends like we do in Buenos Aires - especially on warm Spring or Summer evenings.
