Gotan Project

Since at least the 1990s, it has been said that, "Paris is the capital of world music." Parisian radio helped define the concept. Tango musicians escaped to France during the years of Argentine dictatorship and remained in the welcoming arms of the French. Theatre is a normal part of French life. Put these elements together and you get the vibrant Paris Tango music scene.

The most prominent Parisian Tango music is Gotan Project, the original electrotango launched with 1999's "Last Tango in Paris." The home scene includes Caceres, Beytelmann and Mosalini. Top classic orchestras, tango nuevo groups and electro bands visit the active organizers at Colectivo, Bahia Blanca, L'Echiquier and Tango Hors Piste.
