TANGO IN THE NETHERLANDS

Tangomagia is a major December Argentine Tango festival of world-class artists organized by Marijke de Vries at Science Park University of Amsterdam, a college in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The artists at Tangomagia are the top rank of world-class artists from Buenos Aires and Europe. Amsterdam is a lovely city with many unique delights. The Dutch people speak English and are friendly with visitors. The Tangomagia locations, whether modern or historic, are beautiful. The organizer, Marijke de Vries, has a reputation for discovering new talent in the Tango world.

TangoBeat goes to a lot of festivals. Usually the quality of dancers in the milongas is hit and miss. At Tangomagia in 2009, every dancer we danced with was a special pleasure in their own way. This is truly one of the great festivals in the world for the quality of the artists, the quality of the dancers in the milongas and the festival's influence on the Tango world at large.
